THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT
Information requested from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency
We have made a number of Freedom of Information Act requests and received numerous responses. Some of these will be published here when appropriate.
The document below was dated 2nd December 2014 and was sent from Raymond Carson at Holyhead Coastguard (on Anglesey) to Scott Felton. The letter was in response to requests for some answers regarding the MCA Letter sent by Holyhead Coastguard to Russ Kellett on 2nd April 2000.
Scott also requested information regarding the alleged "Operation Photoflash" that Holyhead Coastguard stated had occurred on 23rd January 1974. (See Appendix Four)
Note in paragraph 1 the mention of the Letter being stored in the Coastguard station scrapbook.
Raymond Carson wrote:
"The images shown in your correspondence are, unfortunately, indistinct and it is therefore impossible to identify them. There is only one original letter here in MRCC Holyhead and this is not held in an official file, but a Station scrapboook of press cuttings and other items of interest. (my emphasis - Ed.) A redacted copy of this letter, dated 2 April 2000, is attached at Annex 1."
