Research and Investigation into Anomalous Light Phenomena
on and over Lake Ontario, Ontario, Canada

12th June 2004

South Shore, Lake Ontario

The light balls were descending in very
similar fashion to those of 11th August 2001.

I set up the camera on the south shore in Niagara-on-the-Lake at 20.45 hrs. The wind was strong but not causing problems with tripod or camera stability. Visibility along the horizon was excellent and buildings on the north shore of the lake were very easy to identify.

Aircraft activity was moderate with east-west runways in action at Pearson International Airport. The aircraft were plainly visible before dark and were moving left to right and vice versa from my perspective. After dark the aircraft strobe lights were plainly visible showing as bright, white and intermittent light sources. On several occasions there were aircraft visible on the camera monitor at the same time as the light balls and the quality of the illumination is significantly different.
