Research and Investigation into Anomalous Light Phenomena
on and over Lake Ontario, Ontario, Canada

On Tuesday, May 20th, I went down to the north shore with my friend Diane, and it was a particularly pleasant and clear evening. I set up the camera, having obtained a telephoto lens to give a magnification of x 66, and stood in wait for the appearance of any orbs.

We were not to be disappointed. A very co-operative orb appeared, travelling from east to west, and I succeeded in recording the movement of this object. During the time that the camera was following this object, I momentarily panned to the right, and, in the viewfinder, briefly caught sight of two large lights on the horizon, which, at our height above water level, would have been approximately 6 miles distant from our location on the north shore.

The next night, Wednesday 21st May, I set up again on the north shore, this time on my own, and my attention was drawn to two very large lights on the horizon. These lights appeared at 8:30 p.m. They looked like large windows with the sun reflecting on them, blazing red and orange, but pulsating, which is unusual behaviour for a building!

There was a sailing regatta in progress and I recorded the lights for approximately 20 minutes, whilst sailing boats crossed my view, and birds flew round and about. I continued recording throughout the evening.

Oakville - 21st May 1997

The following evening, Thursday, May 22nd, Diane accompanied me to the same location, and the large lights appeared at the identical time of 8:30 p.m. I recorded them for approximately twenty minutes.

On the 22nd the moon was full and made a spectacular sight as it rose from the horizon, pink in colour. This particular moon was called the "Christ Moon." We watched the moon rise, and so, also, did the military reserve unit lined up behind us. I decided to leave the camera focused on the moon using x 8 magnification.

It was not until two days later that another friend, Cheryl, on watching some of my recent video, suddenly exclaimed about what she was seeing on the screen.

We replayed the tape over and over. On May 21st, what appeared to be just over the surface of the water and at approximately six miles distant from the camera position, was a series of large, disc-like objects, surrounded by some form of "cloud" or what could be a "plasma field." Inside the left "field," apparently rotating and tilting, was what looked like a silver metallic disc with some type of windows or port-holes around the upper portion. The lower part showed some scintillation and sparkling effect. The right "field" comprised, apparently, several similar objects, all characterized by a large, red, lower area, closer to the water's surface. The same type of event occurred the following evening, the 22nd.

(Note: In his book, "UNCONVENTIONAL FLYING OBJECTS," Paul R. Hill refers to "plasma fields." It was in this book that I found a great deal of information regarding luminosity, colour and flight characteristics of "unknowns." Many of these descriptions exactly matched what we had been seeing out over the lake.)

Cheryl continued watching the video as I went out of the room to make a pot of tea. Cheryl called me again. She told me to look at the moon on the screen. As I watched, a white spot appeared on the moon's surface. The spot became larger and then other strange spots appeared. The spots appeared to be moving across the moon's surface.

I would be interested to know what caused that effect.
